The Greene County Historical Society will hold its last regular meeting of the year on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Greenewood Community Center in Jefferson. A traditional Christmas dinner, featuring turkey, will be served at 12 noon, followed by holiday entertainment from Greene County High School vocal and instrumental students.
In the business meeting, outgoing president Jeane Burk will conduct the annual meeting, including the election of new officers and board members and distribution of the annual newsletter.
Lunch is $8, reservations are required and should be phoned to the Historical Museum by Wednesday at 515-386-8544.
The actual program at 1 pm is free and open to the public.
As always, Denny Lautner of Jefferson, the society’s master of historical trivia, has come up with 10 questions to challenge the crowd, starting with three on “radio personalities” and then moving into general Iowa questions.
